Broccoli and Cabbage Salad 

   Summer veggies are here and salads are just one way to dress them up. Here is a broccoli salad skipping the sugar, dairy, bacon and calories of the traditional broccoli salad. I made this up last weekend and brought it to a friends for dinner.  It was a hit.  My husband requested it again so today I made some more. This recipe is enough for a family or to enjoy the next day as well. Enjoy! 


  1.  2 broccoli florets
  2. 1/2 head cabbage chopped (or 1 small head)
  3. 1/2 cup raisins 
  4. 1/4 cup slivered almonds or sunflower seeds 
  5. 1/2 chopped red onion 
  6. 1/2 cup chopped carrots 


  1.  8 oz plain coconut yogurt
  2. 2 Tbsp mustard 
  3. 1 Tbsp honey or bee free honey made from apples (vegan option)
  4. 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar 
  5. Salt and pepper to taste


     Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl. Combine ingredients for dressing in a small bowl. Pour dressing over salad and mix well. Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.  Enjoy!
